[jira] [Created] (MARMOTTA-638) Make GeoSPARQL optional

Sergio Fernández created MARMOTTA-638:
-----------------------------------------

             Summary: Make GeoSPARQL optional
                 Key: MARMOTTA-638
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/MARMOTTA-638
             Project: Marmotta
          Issue Type: New Feature
          Components: KiWi Triple Store
            Reporter: Sergio Fernández
            Assignee: Sergio Fernández
            Priority: Critical
             Fix For: 3.4.0

The current implementation of MARMOTTA-584 would force all users to have installed PostGIS, which should not be a correct assumption. Therefore we need to figure out how to make KiWi pluggable for such things.

Because currently the schema update to version 5 would imply to have the
PostGIS extension installed. The goal of MARMOTTA-638 is to make such need
a bit mire flexible.

Exactly that's the target, yes.

Hello Sergio.

A question. Why it forces all users to have installed postgis?

I believe that only the user who want to use GeoSPARQL is who should
install and set commands of PostGIS extension on the database.

Fernando.
