Back at OpenOffice,org times there exists a project "Better defaults".
You can still read the associated Wiki pages
http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Better_Defaults_General.
Perhaps it is worth to reactivate this project. Of cause some kind of
clear up is needed. But it is a Wiki, so you can register and put your
ideas there.
Such kind of changes would be a good stock of "easy hacks" for
development beginners.

Interesting stuff Regina - I look forward to adding all my stuff to the
Wiki as well - which looks awesome by the way!
I also look forward to becoming an OOo developer once my schedule clears up
- as I gather that a better office will result in greater productivity and
more money for all of us :-)
