Why is it such a pain in the ass to use AXIS2 Client for an AXIS1
Service?
Was anyone able to do this?

Vince,
Axis2 does not support SOAP Encoding; therefore, if your Axis service
uses rpc/encoded, you cannot access it from Axis2. It's time to
upgrade your Axis service.
