Which version to use?

The latest version in the /releases directory is 1.5.1
dated June, 2002. Is there more recent stable release?
Or is this the one recommended for production use?

Ok, let me try again. Are there particular recent
releases that I should avoid because of known bugs?

We all recommend that you use unit tests and if your unit tests pass
then whatever release you use
is stable for whatever uses that you've tested.
