Compiles and runs under Red Hat Linux 5.0, kernel 2.0.34-pre15, egcs

I've built and installed 1.3b7 for Linux Slackware 96 + Kernel 2.0.33 with
gcc 2.7.2, for IRIX 5.3, 6.2, and 6.4 with the SGI cc compiler, and Solaris
2.5.1 with gcc 2.7.2 with zero problems.
