Using spec API jars from Apache?

Does anyone object if I add the JTA and Servlet API jars from Geronimo's
specs modules to the tools\java directory? This will eliminate the need
to download them from Sun.

I've updated BUILDING.txt and went ahead and updated derby_downloads
as well. You'll just need to svn up before the next time the website
is built.

And in http://incubator.apache.org/derby/derby_downloads.html, these can
be removed from the "Software required to build Derby" section:

Java Compiler Compiler (JavaCC) version 3.1
  Jakarta-ORO 2.0.8
  Java Transaction API (JTA) 1.0.1B
  jakarta-servlet API 4 (Servlet 2.4)

right?

Thanks Brian!

Jeremy, I've checked in jakarta-oro and javacc.jar to tools/java. If
you'd like to check in JTA and servlet, I'll update BUILDING to remove
the sections on downloading these from external locations.

Thanks,
andrew

AFAIK it is okay to check in BSD licensed jars (lots of projects do it,
anyway!) =)

I was planning on doing this a while ago with jakarta-oro and javacc as
well, and I had posed a question to our mentors about checking javacc
into the repository (it is BSD license). No one answered, so I never
acted on that impulse, but maybe I should have made my query more
explicitly directed towards them.

Jakarta-oro is fine, I'm sure, but do you happen to know if it's
acceptable to check in BSD licensed jars? If so, I'd like to check in
javacc as well.
