Custom service to wrap an external image as an asset

Hi there,

I wish to display on my web pages external images which are "tunnelled
through" my server (and programs) first.
I tried to use the asset service but later found out that it only serve
asset from the context classpath and only take a path service parameter.
What I need is something like this to put into my pages' img tag:

<img
src="/myApp/app?service=remote_asset&sp=http://remote.host.com/path/picture.
gif" />

Is there existing construct which serves this purpose?
If no how to go about to implement such a custom service?
I search through the tapestry docs but found no detailed guide on writing
custom service.

Thanks for help.
Raymond

Posted by Norbert Sandor <pr...@hotmail.com>.
Did you look at ExternalAsset?

The "Tapestry in action" book contains an example custom service with
explanation.
