If you say so. But, I think I know one or two. ;-)

first: I'm not a jerk. Nobody is a jerk.
second: you should try to be a bit more forgiving.
third: I'm just trying to get one simple question answered: How do get
logging to work with Tomcat?
It is hard to debug problems without at least the abililty to place
strategic log messages in your code.
I've spent the better part of a week getting Tomcat installed and
configured to work with my existing servlet base on jserv and now to get
to this situation is extremely frustrating. Something as simple as
logging should be common knowledge by now in the more experienced user
circles. yes?

Dynamo is cool for an app server. Don't know about its jsp capabilities
but they have some kind of "droplet" thingy that looks like jsp sort
of....

Ive enjoyed programming on the Dynamo Platform. In fact (I dont know if
there is any truth to this but I heard) that the .jhtml architecture
*was* actually JSP and ATG licensed it to Sun? I dont know if that is
true, but in the end the Droplets are basically tag handlers that are
very well built and designed and came way before Tomcat if that is
right.
Their Personalization Server is a very cool tool, and I dont understand
why their isn't solutions in the current JSP 1.1 TC implementation to
take advantage of stuff like that.
The only problem with alot of platforms is the confusion between
"components" and "beans" when they are the same thing so alot of app
servers have steep learning curves I find.

We ran Dynamo at my last company, and I was actually
pretty impressed with it. There were a few shortcomings and
the configuration in many cases seemed needlessly complex,
but it ran well and had a great deal of flexibility (including a
very well-defined request pipeline which was easily customizable).
It is indeed too expensive for most small companies (which is
why I'm investigating Tomcat now!).
