Getting Portlet ID for a User.

Hi All,
We have a requirement where we need to store the Portlet Instance ID for
every user. I know that from portlet.getID() we can get the ID. But here are
the situations for which I am not clear how to get it.

1. First time when the user logs into the Jetspeed Portal, How will we know
what all portlet Instance ID's he has so that we can update our records?
2. Whenever a user deletes a portlet from his profile, how will we come to
know about the deleted portlet instance ID so that we can update our
records?

Is there any api's given by Jetspeed to over ride it?

Please let me know regarding this.

Thanks in Advance.

Regards,
Sunil.
