please help with mod_jserv.so for tomcat 3.1 -- SOS

Where do I turn to be able to get a binary of mod_jserv.so?  I am using
apache 1.3.12 on a solaris 2.6 box.  I have tried unsuccessfully for two
days to create a binary myself.  I have been in the apxs script, changed the
compiler options and the linker options.  The instructions in the Tomcat
user guide do not work.
I will appreciate all the help that I can get.
