SVG

I'm going to merge the svg branch into the main branch.

This means a few things.

- To use the svg you will need jdk1.2 (preferably 1.3)
- the batik jar will be included in the lib dir
- svg support will be better (eventually)
- svg doesn't work for the pcl renderer anymore (TBD by someone)
- you might wonder why an svg file is no longer accepted, ask the batik
people

- you can use batik to output a pdf document from an svg file. I'm not sure
what are the required libs etc. More info later.

There are still things to do, this just makes it easier to handle the
diverging branches.

You meant those strange messages.

The svg images don't actually use any fonts (text is rendered from curves)
at the moment so I could prevent these error messages.

Well I'm not so sure. The SVGElement.layout gets the font properties and
tries to create a FontState object. This does a lookup on the font and
discovers in the instream.fo and extensive.fo examples that the font values
are all null and throws an error. Are font properties mandatory for svg
elements?

The PrintStarter has the same problem and I suspect it is because an AWT
component has been created and used but isn't getting disposed. I'm not sure
either :)

This has been fixed.

The strange font messages are a problem with your java installation,
nothing to do with FOP.
It doesn't exit because of something to do with threads or awt, I'm not
sure.

Keiron,

I was eager to get the updates and it looks great! But note that you might also
need to change the classpaths in fop.bat and build.bat.

You are probably also aware of some strange font messages with the instream.fo
example, and the program doesn't exit/finish when using an exmaple with SVG in
it. Other than that, it looks great!
