[jira] [Created] (IMPALA-6855) Impala audit/profile/lineage log files can have more human-friendly names

Zoram Thanga created IMPALA-6855:
------------------------------------

             Summary: Impala audit/profile/lineage log files can have more human-friendly names
                 Key: IMPALA-6855
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/IMPALA-6855
             Project: IMPALA
          Issue Type: Improvement
          Components: Backend
    Affects Versions: Impala 2.11.0, Impala 3.0, Impala 3.1.0
            Reporter: Zoram Thanga

Impala's SimpleLogger appends the milliseconds since epoch to the log file names. It's difficult to easily map these to log timestamps when trouble-shooting and/or doing manual log correlation, e.g.:

{noformat}
impala_audit_event_log_1.0-1523635287678
impala_profile_log_1.1-1523635287675
{noformat}

It would be a lot easier for a human if these were named similar to Impalad log files, e.g.:

{noformat}
impala_audit_event_log_1.0-20180413-090127
impala_profile_log_1.1-20180413-090127
{noformat}
