Parsing Japanese Shift-JIS files
I am trying to parse the sh_jis.xml supplied with the ICU samples and the
parser gives a
'Document entity could not be opened'. I have all the ICU stuff (ICU_DATA)
directory set up.
I opened this file in IE 5 and it looks fine.
What am I doing wrong? Do I have to set and encoding explicitly even though
the encoding is present in the XML file??

What platform is this on? While compiling or executing a xerces application you
no longer need ICU_DATA set. Instead you need to unset if at all its there in
your environment shell. You may also need to make sure that the icu-uc and
icudata libs are in your library paths. Its advisable to have the encoding name
explicitly specified.
