Re: https://ci.apache.org/projects/jmeter/nightlies/ : NIghtly build not generated since 16th january

Hi,
Any clue on this ?

Anybody knows how it works and where we can update the nightly page that
displays ?
Thanks

Yes, the printable docs and api docs are in the binary archives.

With the recent change to the nightly Ant build target that now
creates theJavadocs.
So they definitely don't need to be recreated in a later step.

It's just a question of whether it is worth uploading Javadocs to the
buildbot website (it takes a little while).
(Adding a link [1] to main body of [2] would be easy.)

Would they be useful to have online, given that they are in the binary archive?

There is only a single copy, so that gets overwritten for each build
(not that the Javadocs change very much).
[Note: the Javadocs created by the nightly target include the revision]

FTR, the apidocs output is currently uploaded to:

[1] https://ci.apache.org/projects/jmeter/apidocs/
[2] https://ci.apache.org/projects/jmeter/nightlies/

Hi,
I think they are useful in the bundle but if they are generated as a side
zip also, then ok let's drop it.

Re: https://ci.apache.org/projects/jmeter/nightlies/ : NIghtly build not generated since 16th january

Posted by sebb <se...@gmail.com>.
I think this is finally fixed.

I think it's now working OK and should be reasonably easy to update as
necessary.

Which reminds me - at present the nightly job creates apidocs.
However there is no link to them.

I'm not sure it's worth creating (and publishing) apidocs for nightly builds.

So I propose to drop those steps from the build.

The page generation cronjob has been fixed, however the nightly build
job is still failing because of the recent changes which mean it now
runs tests.
These currently fail because the job runs headless.
I've just committed a change which may fix that.

Since the builds have already changed, the online docs ought really to
be updated please.

OK, understood.

I have made some changes, however the page is built by a process that
does not seem to have run since Jan 16.
So waiting on Infra to fix/restart it.

and this one will be wrong:
https://ci.apache.org/projects/jmeter/nightlies/

It looks like all the nightly builds stopped on that date.

No idea what you are talking about.

Please provide full URLs to the pages, and say what needs to be

The nightly build is still broken

https://ci.apache.org/builders/jmeter-nightly

Trunk is mostly OK

https://ci.apache.org/builders/jmeter-trunk

I have committed a fix for the headless failures, but it has not yet
been picked up.
I'll have to prod Infra.

It should match the new nightly.xml content since 2 days ago we started
distributing the bundle instead of lib and bin.
