Struts and Axis! why not?

I was wondering if there are any cooperation between Axis and Struts?

It sounds weird question, but maybe there will be some reusable
components that both can use..

And maybe extending struts controller to intercept soap messages using
Axis servlet.. both sharing same model, same business interface...
generating xml messages and then forward them to the presentation layer
or as soap message..

Just some ideas! Any ideas?

Hello,

it would seem that people have forgotten about this email from a few weeks ago:
http://marc.theaimsgroup.com/?l=axis-user&m=104284278431476&w=2 that set up
the Axis4Struts project on Sourceforge

You're thinking something along the lines of each struts action is
automatically exposed via axis - request comes in, simply match the
soap-action with the name of a struts action - use the bean deserializer to
put the values into the struts form, and voila, away you go... sounds neat.
I'm sure the javascript/flash (?) developers who are wanting more control on
the client of what they do and dont post would like it...

cheers

There is a SourceForge project for just this:

http://sourceforge.net/projects/axis4struts/

Rabih,

We are in the process of implementing both struts and axis here in
ARAMCO. Sounds like a good idea to share information about this. Please
let me know how yours go and I will let you know how mine goes as well.
