Rajat, This is correct behavior. The namespace is, strictly speaking, the "http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform" uri not the prefix. The spec does not mention what should be done with the prefix, and Xalan has decided not to redefine, what you, the user have defined the prefix to be. Paul
