Summary: Provide link between .jmx and .jtl files
           Product: JMeter
           Version: 2.3
          Platform: All
        OS/Version: All
            Status: NEW
          Severity: enhancement
          Priority: P2
         Component: Main
        AssignedTo: jmeter-dev@jakarta.apache.org
        ReportedBy: jens@voss-ahrensburg.de

In our project, we use test log files (.jtl files) to generate a number of
detailed reports in which we would also like to embed some information kept in
the test plan definitions themselves (i.e. the .jmx files).
For this purpose, we need to have a link between these two types of files.
Currently, the only (?) such link is provided via the "testname" resp. the "lb"
attributes, but this is rather weak as it breaks when the test element names
are not unique (which happens occasionally in our test plans).

My suggestion out of this would be to assign a unique ID to each test element
(for instance a simple auto-incrementing integer) which is stored in the test
plan file and which can be written out into the .jtl file (via a new setting in
the jmeter.properties file).
