[jira] [Commented] (VCL-678) Reduce unnecessary output written to vcld.log

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/VCL-678?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=13592511#comment-13592511 ]

Andy Kurth commented on VCL-678:
--------------------------------

Good idea. I like having the ability to dump all the very verbose info for debugging. I'm constantly uncommenting things out then reverting them when developing or troubleshooting.
The current default I believe is to run in verbose mode, controlled via --verbose on the vcld command line. You can run --noverbose to run in terse mode meaning the VERBOSE notify messages aren't displayed. What about following SSH's simple arguments of -v, -vv, and -vvv? This is similar to vmkfstools's -v1 ... -v3.

> The amount written to vcld.log is getting ridiculous. Much can be removed.
