[jira] [Created] (TOMEE-2299) A easy to follow document outlining how to contribute to the TomEE project

Richard Monson-Haefel created TOMEE-2299:
--------------------------------------------

Summary: A easy to follow document outlining how to contribute to the TomEE project
                 Key: TOMEE-2299
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/TOMEE-2299
             Project: TomEE
          Issue Type: Bug
          Components: Examples and Documentation
    Affects Versions: 8.0.0-M1
            Reporter: Richard Monson-Haefel

I would like to create a single, easy to follow, document that people new to the TomEE project - like myself - can use to get started. The document would explain what TomEE is, how it fits into the greater IT ecosystem, how to join mailing lists and introduce yourself, how to run the application server, where the examples are, and how to use git to make contributions among other things.  Pointers to other resources, like a tutorial on Git, can be used but TomEE also have its own conventions and those should be explained in detail.

I have already started a rough draft which is in Google Drive. I can move it to the project but not sure if I should use dot text and where I should put it.  Guidance on creating this document and help in writing it would be much appreciated.  Here is the URL to the work in progress:
