MPO ORM GUI

Hi All,

There is a payware ORM product featured on TSS called MPO.

http://www.ribesoftware.com/mpo.do

This product has a nice way of specifying object relationships, good
place to look for some inspiration:

Yes its pretty simple, but I think that is a good thing. I intially
found building relationships in Cayenne a trial and error process
until I figured out how it works, it is not that intiutive.

While I was not impressed by MPO either, I recognize the need to
simplify the mapping of relationships in CM. IIRC there was a Jira
issue on that topic, but we had to postpone it since 1.2 was
overloaded as is. We'll revisit it at some point.

Exactly my experience too :). IMHO relationships could be done simpler with CM. For
the many2many(flattened) case not to mention: I(and nobody I asked) was not able to do it without
having the documentation side by side with the modeler.

Of course, we can always look at other products for inspiration. I
still think EOModeler is one of the best overall for layout/etc. The
MPO UI looks clean, but takes up way too much space. Imagine a model
with 100+ classes in it and each attribute taking up a row ...

I like, in the demo link, "First. To create a new class, just click the
'New class' button. It's easy, isn't it?" I wish we had a new class
button. Then we could be easy, too. :-)

Seriously, though, do people want this kind of modeler? I personally

Seriously, though, do people want this kind of modeler? I personally
like the more technical, but still intuitive modeler.
