CI Agent on MS Azure

Hi,

this weekend, while releasing Flexmojos, I took the opportunity to checkout Microsoft Azure.
Seems to do the job nicely. I allready was able to setup a TeamCity agent on a Windows VM that is now the Build Agent for Flexmojos CI builds. I documented the setup on my Wiki: https://dev.c-ware.de/confluence/display/PUBLIC/Setting+up+a+TeamCity+agent+on+an+Azure+VM

What I particularly liked in contrast to EC2 was that your virtual harddrive is not reset every time you shutdown your VM and the Management UI is a lot less confusing.

Unfortunately there is no plugin available to automatically start/stop an Azure VM on demand, but they do provide a rest-service to do that and I'm currently working on a TeamCity Cloud Plugin ... so eventually that gap might be closeable.

Today I was called back by Microsoft and the Lady wanted to know how I liked Azure. While I was talking to her, I switched the topic to if MS would be willing to provide Apache Flex with a small Windows VM free of charge ... She told me that this might be possible and that I should send her an Email ... well I did this ... so let's see what the answer is.
