[Issue 124656] New: unable to disable the Quickstarter (Linux)

https://issues.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=124656

          Issue ID: 124656
        Issue Type: DEFECT
Summary: unable to disable the Quickstarter (Linux)
           Product: General
           Version: 4.1.0-dev
          Hardware: All
                OS: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Keywords: regression
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P3
         Component: ui
          Assignee: issues@openoffice.apache.org
          Reporter: mroellig.news@gmx.net

After fresh installation of AOO 4.1 RC1 the Quickstarter is active.

If I disable the Quickstarter wheter if I do it by the menu entry at the
Quickstarter or by disabling the option in Options - OpenOffice - Memory the
icon in the systray disappears.

But after Logout and Login (Ubuntu/Gnome) the Quickstarter starts. The option
in Options - OpenOffice - Memory is always disabled.

In comment 2 only the 2) problem is valid!

Sorry. In nautilus the properties of a link shows the rights for the linked
file, not for the link itself.

--- Comment #4 from Ariel Constenla-Haile <ar...@apache.org> ---
Both debian and RPM packaging systems have a way to specify tasks to perform
when removing a package, but a package is not allowed to remove files in user
directories.

This isn't a regression, it exists since the feature was created.

I found that the link to start the Quickstarter is located at
~/.config/autostart

2 problems:

1) In the profile where I started AOO after installation at first time (as
user, not root!) the link for the Quickstarter is created with root rights!

2) Before I install a new AOO version I uninstall the previous version. But the
link for the Quickstarter will not be deleted. AOO 4.1 will be installed in the
same directory as AOO 4.0 was. But the link for the Quickstarter have a
different name. So there are two links
OpenOffice 4.0.0.desktop and
OpenOffice 4.1.0.desktop
that refers to the same location.
Also the actual link "OpenOffice 4.1.0.desktop" is deleted by disabling the
Quickstarter, "OpenOffice 4.0.0.desktop" will start up the Quickstarter.
