[VOTE] Release Airflow 2.11.0 from 2.11.0rc1

Hey fellow Airflowers,

The release candidates for *Apache Airflow 2.11.0rc1* are now available for
testing!

This email is calling for a vote on the release, which will last at least
until 20th May, 6:00 am GMT and until 3 binding +1 votes have been received.

Consider this my +1 binding vote.

Airflow 2.11.0rc1 is available at:
https://dist.apache.org/repos/dist/dev/airflow/2.11.0rc1/

"apache-airflow" package:

*apache-airflow-2.11.0-source.tar.gz* is a source release that comes with
INSTALL instructions.
*apache-airflow-2.11.0.tar.gz* is the binary Python "sdist" release.
*apache_airflow-2.11.0-py3-none-any.whl* is the binary Python
wheel "binary" release.

Public keys are available at:
https://dist.apache.org/repos/dist/release/airflow/KEYS

Please vote accordingly:

[ ] +1 approve
[ ] +0 no opinion
[ ] -1 disapprove with the reason

Only votes from PMC members are binding, but all members of the community
are encouraged to test the release and vote with "(non-binding)".

The test procedure for PMC members is described in:
https://github.com/apache/airflow/blob/main/dev/README_RELEASE_AIRFLOW.md#verify-the-release-candidate-by-pmc-members

The test procedure for contributors and members of the community who would
like to test this RC is described in:
https://github.com/apache/airflow/blob/main/dev/README_RELEASE_AIRFLOW.md#verify-the-release-candidate-by-contributors

Please note that the version number excludes the 'rcX' string, so it's now
simply 2.11.0 for Airflow package. This will allow us to rename the
artifact without modifying
the artifact checksums when we actually release.

*Docs* (for preview): https://airflow-2-11-0rc1.surge.sh/
*Release Notes*:

*Testing Instructions using PyPI*:

You can build a virtualenv that installs this and other required packages,
like this:

```
uv venv
uv pip install -U apache-airflow==2.11.0rc1
```

Wei, the migration Issue <https://github.com/apache/airflow/pull/50745> is
only specific to SQLite, right?

+1 non binding.

Ran a few example dags from my test suite, and performed a few clicks on the
UI doing various things. (Using the old UI now seems hard!)

Wei, your issue seems to be localised to SQLite.

Re: [VOTE] Release Airflow 2.11.0 from 2.11.0rc1

Posted by Jens Scheffler <j_...@gmx.de.INVALID>.
Hi Wei,

mhm, checked the PR and somehow this is the wrong target branch.
Migration from Airflow 2.2 were cut on main. If you want to fix
something it would need to get to v2-11-test.

Otherwise I kind of dis-agree on raising a -1 for a migration problem
caused by a migration rule in 2.2.0 that is 3.8 years old. Airflow 2.11
is not adding/changing any migration rule and the same bug is in 2.10.5
- no new and no serious problem introduced and as such this should not
block the release of 2.11. Might be okay to develop a fix into 2.11 line
later as well.

Jens

-1 (non-binding)

Encountered a few issues during testing `airflow db migrate` with 2.11.0rc1

Tried to put up fixes in https://github.com/apache/airflow/pull/50745

Best,

We have now
https://airflow.staged.apache.org/docs/apache-airflow/2.11.0/index.html
available -> docs for 2.11.0 .

drop-down to some sort of combo-box i created an issue for that
https://github.com/apache/airflow/issues/50710 - if someone is good in
writing web UIs widget code - the UI/javascript side of it is up for grabs
- we can fix sorting on the backend in the meantime.
