[jira] [Created] (VELOCITY-936) Download page issues

Sebb created VELOCITY-936:
-----------------------------

             Summary: Download page issues
                 Key: VELOCITY-936
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/VELOCITY-936
             Project: Velocity
          Issue Type: Bug
         Environment: https://velocity.apache.org/download.cgi
            Reporter: Sebb

The download page has some issues.

Snapshot releases are only intended for developers, and must not be published on pages intended for the general public [1]

Also there are references to archived releases [2]. These should be linked from the archive server ([https://archive.apache.org/dist/velocity/),] and the files removed from the mirrors.

It's unfair to expect the volunteer mirrors to carry archived versions.
