Failed to deploy JSR-168 spec. portlet samples into Pluto !!
Hello,
I downloaded the JSR-168 spec samples from Sun, and want to deploy into
Pluto, but failed.
What do I need to do if I want to deploy other portlets into Pluto ??

Hi,
I've had some issues with the sun sample portlets myself with our
GridSphere portal and contacted a rep at Sun. The biggest issue I found
was that the TimeZone portlet is not actually JSR compliant-- they
perform a PortletPreferences.store() in the render method which is not
allowed. They informed that if one adds an "extension" to the
sun-portlet.xml file than it is allowed. I personally find this very
distasteful. I'm all in favor of extensions that improve upon the
portlet API and meet needs that are not specified, but to allow
extensions that essentially violates the spec is making a mockery of
having a standard in the first place IMHO.

I had this problem too...
to fix the problem I had to edit the header of the portlet.xml file
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<portlet-app xmlns="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/portlet/portlet-app_1_0.xsd"
xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"
xsi:schemaLocation="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/portlet/portlet-app_1_0.xsd
http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/portlet/portlet-app_1_0.xsd" version="1.0">
note that the same schemaLocation is listed twice.
I think that is what I had to change...
You need to be a little more descriptive in your emails next time
I hope this helps.
