[Bug 3646] CPU over loaded

pent IV hyper threading 

I too had this issue. Spamd running at 99% 

Could not kill process with top or pkill or kill. 
Tried to restart shutdown failed.



Rebooted box and it hung on the that process kill all did not continue had to 
physically press reset button (co-located) so that was a pain. 

Here is the process info ps -aux

/usr/bin/spamd --username=popuser --daemonize --helper-home-dir=/var/qmail --
max-children 20 --create-prefs --nouser-config --virtual-config-
dir=/var/qmail/mailnames/%d/%l --pidfile=/var/run/spamd_light.pid --
socketpath=/tmp/spamd_light.sock --siteconfigpath=/dev/null
