[jira] [Created] (ZEPPELIN-3879) setFetchSize and setMaxRows can't
be configured
Patrice Clement created ZEPPELIN-3879:
-----------------------------------------
Summary: setFetchSize and setMaxRows can't be configured
Key: ZEPPELIN-3879
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/ZEPPELIN-3879
Project: Zeppelin
Issue Type: Bug
Components: zeppelin-interpreter
Affects Versions: 0.8.0
Environment: * Ubuntu 16.04
* Java 8
* Zeppelin 0.8.0
Reporter: Patrice Clement
At $WORK, we ran into an issue with the Zeppelin JDBC interpreter whereby large SQL queries take ages to execute and actually bring the Zeppelin web interface to a halt. We eventually traced the problem down to the {color:#d04437}*JDBCInterpreter.java*{color} file and these two lines:
{code:java}
// fetch n+1 rows in order to indicate there's more rows available (for large selects)
statement.setFetchSize(getRowsFetchSize());
statement.setMaxRows(getMaxRows() + 1);{code}
It would be really cool if these two values could be set via the *{color:#d04437}interpreter/jdbc/interpreter-setting.json{color}* file. I'm going to try to come up with a PR.
