What it means is my employer, SimpliVity, allowed me some time at work for
project and as one of my quarterly goals.

Hi,

Contributions to Apache projects are by individuals not companies. [1] But it's nice to know they funded (in some way I assume) your development work on it, more companies should be involved in doing that. If you are working full time (or depending on your contract with them) there you may optionally want to look at them signing a CLA. [2] (under Contributor License Agreements)

What does that mean? I put on my brave hat and risked clicking the
