soap calls TL or is returned to TL
In James's document he talks about the Axis
engine calling the 'send' method in the Transport
Context, but there's another possibility. Should
the Axis engine just return to the Transport Layer
and not be involved in the send at all?
ie.
TL calls AxisEngine.invoke() and
inside AxisEngine.invoke() is calls
TLContext.send(Response)
or
TL calls AxisEngine.invoke() and
invoke returns a Response object
and TL calls whatever 'send()' method
it needs.
Which way do people prefer? One of the issues
I have with the 1st way is that I don't like the
idea of Axis knowing about the transport layer and
how to call 'send' - I'd prefer if we just left it
up to the caller of the AxisEngine to figure out
what to do with the response. Besides, in some
cases there may not be a 'send' method to call at
all.
