Mapping SOAP Fault <-> SOAPException

I just want to ask, to figure out a basic
understanding of SOAP Faults and the SOAPException

I know that there are Constants for every kind of
Fault (like FAULT_CODE_CLIENT or FAULT_CODE_SERVER)
and this Fault-Strings are used to fill
SOAPExceptions.

How is the general relationship between SOAP Faults
and SOAPExceptions? 

Is the useual way in Apache SOAP to map all possible
SOAP Faults (SOAP 1.1) in SOAPExceptions.
