clustering: How to add a new node if janitorEnabled =true?

Hi,
If I turn on the janitorEnabled option of jackrabbit clustering how can I add a new node? 
The clustering wiki page doesn't show the instructions on how to achieve this, just saying it's hard to do... http://wiki.apache.org/jackrabbit/Clustering#Removing_Old_Revisions
At least for me I think janitor should be always enabled if your repository starts to get any bigger, so this really should be added to the wiki.

Any volunteer to complete the wiki :) ?
