read write problems on .svn/entries

Hi there,

I am facing an error on permissions which I do not understand.

error: cant set file ./svn/entries read write permission denied.

On the FS it looks like this:
-rwxrwx---    1 webserver staff        9173 2007-08-06 12:11 entries*

Where the user "svn" is part of the group staff and therefore has all 
rights on that file and folder. It is also possible to edit that file 
via command line when logged in as user "svn".

I do not see the problem. I also restarted the svn server but no help 
from there.

Has anybody an idea? I found lots of similar questions on the web, but 
no solution. Thank you for any help.
