Zookeeper backup/restore/recovery best practice

We are researching zookeeper, try to understand the zookeeper basic logic
of backup/restore/recovery, from the zookeeper doc site (
http://zookeeper.apache.org/doc/r3.4.5/), no much information can be found.
So could someone provide some clues or bast practices?
