[jira] (MNG-5501) Prerequisites don't work against Maven-3.1.0

    [ https://jira.codehaus.org/browse/MNG-5501?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=339894#comment-339894 ]

Jason van Zyl commented on MNG-5501:
------------------------------------

The prerequisite field is to stop plugins that use this field from running in an inappropriate version of Maven. Probably not clearly documented. But, yes, this is what the enforcer plugin is for.

> adding
> {code}<prerequisites><maven>3.1.0</maven></prerequisites>{code}
> does not stop the project from being built with mvn-3.0.4 or mvn-3.0.5
> Is Prerequisites suppose to work or not?
> Because there is no sign of it being deprecated throughout the documentation.
> (I don't want to use the enforcer plugin).
