MailJdbc Tests usually takes from weeks to months to execute. As discussed in the thread discussion related to DERBY-4091 [~bryanpendleton] suggested the following.
bq. Can you look into the program? Perhaps there is a way to configure the sleeps so that it runs much faster, consuming more resources of course, but perhaps revealing any hidden problems sooner?

Need to investigate possible improvements that can be made to decrease the runtime of the MailJdbc tests.
