CouchDB Change Notifications Performance?

I want to know if CouchDBs continues change notifications could be used as a comet application in an scalable, high traffic (=~100k req/s) fasion. I've read about mochiwebs high throughput on comet apps http://www.metabrew.com/article/a-million-user-comet-application-with-mochiweb-part-1!
But don't know if any one has benchmarked or used change notifications to see how couch performs!?
