I would like to be able to view that (and other) old messages. I
(think) I created an account (I'm not really clear if there is a one to
one mapping between the account I "created" and membership on this list --
or if they are completely separate deals...)

But anyway, my account doesn't have permissions to do
ANYTHING. (not even the "help" section or the "view my
permissions" session)...but it does say "ask the project administrator for
more permissions"

I tried to find out if there was a "proper channel" to do this...but I
didn't have permissions to find out how.. :)

So this is my cry for help.

Thanks

What user account name was it?

I've never heard of someone who was logged in having *fewer* perms
than an anonymous, un-logged-in user. I'd love to know specific error
messages, and even try logging in as that user myself.

but you don't get realy all messages.
In the moment I can only get the 1785 newest of the 18753 messages
listet at
http://subversion.tigris.org/servlets/SummarizeList?listName=users

does anyone know why?

I second that. I tried to create an account and got locked out of all the
things I previously had permission to do as an unregistered user. Like you,
I never did find the right place to report it to.

The lockout goes away fairly quickly on a timeout, and I am back to
unregistered user status now.

BTW: You can point your newsreader at
gmane.comp.version-control.subversion.user to read/write this list. For some
reason it is not documented on the mailing lists page, but access is a lot
faster than through the web interface.
