when the collect agent failed?

Hi all,
	Now i configure two agent,one is  used to  send message by exec source(use command 	`tail -F `), another is used to collect the message . I find that when the collect agent failed ,even though i restart the collect agent , the agent which sending message would not reconnect the collect agent. As a result ,i must restart the sending message agent.Does there anything can help  this ?
