a release

Hi,

I think that we should try to get a release out reasonably soon. There 
has been some progress and I also think that it would be good to have a 
non-incubating release available for download.
The question is, if one of the "experienced" release managers (Vinayak 
and I - one release each :) ) should do it or if somebody else is up for 
it :)

What do you think?
