    @zsxwing @tdas not sure this is the best place to comment, but I'd like to point out the latest comments on the [JIRA issue](https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SPARK-8630). 
    
    This patch "closes" how we can use QueueInputDStream: as a starting point for data into a topology that has checkpointing activated (because of updateStateByKey for example). Is there a workaround / another class that we could use for this ?
