Version of Xerces from xerces.jar?
Hi all,
Is there a way to tell the version of the Xerces given a xerces.jar file?
Thanks in advance,

Nobody likes a smart-alec! ;) Technically, you're right but
we don't have a "framework" package in Xerces2. Besides, if
you get a class not found exception from the VM, then you
know if you have one vs. the other and can run the appropriate
Version program to discover the actual version.

So you must know, which version you use to make query, which version you
have. Cool. [sorry]

For Xerces 1.x:
java -cp xerces.jar org.apache.xerces.framework.Version
For Xerces2:
java -cp xerces.jar org.apache.xerces.impl.Version

Assuming xerces.jar is on your classpath:
java org.apache.xeces.framework.Version should do it
