[jira] (MRM-1770) Allow subtree searches for LDAP authentication

Jeff Vincent created MRM-1770:
---------------------------------

Summary: Allow subtree searches for LDAP authentication
                 Key: MRM-1770
                 URL: https://jira.codehaus.org/browse/MRM-1770
             Project: Archiva
          Issue Type: Improvement
          Components: Users/Security
    Affects Versions: 1.4-M4
         Environment: Archiva Server:
CentOS 6
Tomcat6
Archiva 1.4-M4

LDAP:
Active Directory (let me know if you need to know the version)
            Reporter: Jeff Vincent
            Priority: Minor

The nature of LDAP is an object hierarchy allowing for structured organization of users, groups, computers, and other objects (similar to a file system).

The object structure can be organized by geographic region, business unit or organizational structure (just to name a few).

In our company, not all users or groups are in a single container/location in the LDAP directory structure and we need to be able to specify the root-most container to start the search and need subtree searches or users will be missed.
