Takanobu Asanuma commented on HADOOP-11123:
-------------------------------------------

Hi all,

Since JDK9 and JDK10 have reached EOL, I think hadoop doesn't need to fix the incompatibilies anymore and we should focus on supporting JDK11 which is an LTS release.

How about closing HADOOP-11123(Support Java 9) and HADOOP-11423(Support Java 10) as Won't Fix, and moving the unresolved sub-tasks to under HADOOP-15338(Support Java 11)?

> JIRA to cover/track issues related to Hadoop on Java 9.
> Java 9 will have some significant changes —one of which is the removal of various {{com.sun}} classes. These removals need to be handled or Hadoop will not be able to run on a Java 9 JVM
