Process for Translating the Web-site

As the have been a number of requests lately to translate the
OpenOffice.org website, I wanted to ask if there is a documented process
of how to go about this.

I know that we used to have generic set of files that we would send to the
requester to translate via a zip file. Do we still have that as an option
or should something new be documented so that we can refer potential
translators to it?

Regards
Keith

unfortunatelly, not via the website. The data in both files is only used
at buold time and delivered in the final webpages.

An idea would be to create a ZIP'ed package which all files we can
provide together with the documentation on the Confluence page.

3 feet is already quite high but a buried car is really bad. We hat a
similar situation in 1978. But as little child I don't remember. Here a

I am doing good. As I am in western Massachusetts, we only got about 6
inches (15.24cm) or so of snow. along the coast they got upwards of 3 feet
(0.914m). The worst on I lived through was the Blizzerd of 1978 when I was
living about 30 miles (48.28km)from the coast. That one shut down most of
the state. My Dodge colt was completely buried.

good to see. I've added some more pages that are part of the "xx". With
this we are covering also the text that is reachable via the navigation

I can certainly take over from here. We are expecting a nor'easter
(https://www.weather.gov/safety/winter-noreaster) so I will be housebound.
Will give me plenty of time to add the screenshots and get back to work on
the user guides.

I've made some more additions. Now some screenshots (see the TODOs in
red) should be added that shows the description in a visual way.

@Keith:
Do you want to take over? I'm asking as they should come from the same
person to have the graphics in the same quality.

And then we could ask for a first feedback from a translator perspective.

I've started a new page here:

However, it's more work than expected and I need more time.
But it's a wiki page, so everybody can update add their things. :-)

yes, you are of course right.

Let's make a deal: ;-)

I write some points / few sentences and Matthias can add what he knows.
Then you can make a good documention (maybe incl. some screenshots?) of
it and put it at a god placein confluence. The we have always a good
pointer when questions arise.

What do you think?

I believe that it would be helpful to pick those few brains as to exactly
what should be translated, and where it is located so that we can have a
concise methodolgy to give to potential translators, along with the
