I'm unable to reproduce this on two machines saving to a HDD (7200 RPM), a
flash drive (USB 2.0), and an SSD from an SSD installation of Writer.
Test machines:
Windows 10, SSD saving to HDD, 16gb RAM, 8 core AMD.
Linux (Elementary OS, Debian based), SSD saving to flash drive (USB 2.0), dual
core i5.
Test files:
100, 300, 1000, 2400 pages of zero characters '0'.
100, 300, 1000, 2400 pages of a single page of keyboard mashing duplicated.
Saving took less than a second even with 2000 pages of text. Typing while
saving produced less than a second of input lag even when saving to a USB 2.0
flash drive.
Steps:
1. Start OpenOffice.
2. Create test file
2.a Copy and paste all zeros until document is desired size.
2.b Mash keyboard until a page is filled. Copy and paste until document is
desired size
3. Save program while typing.
