[jira] [Commented] (PHOENIX-3707) PhoenixTracingEndToEndIT is hanging on master branch

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/PHOENIX-3707?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=15892899#comment-15892899 ]

Samarth Jain commented on PHOENIX-3707:
---------------------------------------

Ah! Turns out the test started hanging after we upgraded the hbase version in our pom to 1.2.4. For some reason, with hbase 1.2.4, MetricsSink#flush() isn't being called automatically. As a result, latches that are waiting for PhoenixMetricsSink to flush() are stuck. We shouldn't really be doing latch.await() without a timeout in first place. But this change in behavior is interesting. [~elserj], would you happen to know what might have changed between 1.2.0 and 1.2.4 that has changed the way hadoop metrics sinks are flushed?
