Double byte characters

Hi... I wrote an app that it is succesfully running in
WebSphere App Server. Here is what happends in Tomcat
4.1.24. When I test this app in my Chinese machine
(chinese Win 2K). I enter a name in a textfield (JSP -
using Chinese chars) and when the user press the "go"
button I want to set a hidden field to this entered
Chinese value. Later I want to use the hidden-value,
but when I read it, it appears in some weird chars
including "?" and other non-Chinese chars. Again this
runs well in WebSphere App Server. What can the
problem be? Please help???
