I have just tried  text/html, but actually it just changed the mail header. I have still the same text. The hyperlinks to the bug tracking system are not in the email.

By any chance did you have a look at the parameter [mailContentType|http://maven.apache.org/plugins/maven-changes-plugin/announcement-mail-mojo.html#mailContentType] ?

Yes because the default velocity template generates a text announce.
But you can use your own velocity template which generate real html !

Understood. I was hoping to use the html report out of the box, but you are right it's not a big deal to write the velocity template.
