[jira] [Created] (HDFS-6957) Allow DFSClient to manually specify that a request should be traced

Colin Patrick McCabe created HDFS-6957:
------------------------------------------

Summary: Allow DFSClient to manually specify that a request should be traced
                 Key: HDFS-6957
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HDFS-6957
             Project: Hadoop HDFS
          Issue Type: Sub-task
            Reporter: Colin Patrick McCabe

Allow the DFSClient to manually specify that a request should be traced. One easy way to do this might be to have a configuration property that the DFSClient reads which causes it to make all its requests traced. This will allow us to more easily diagnose performance problems with a specific file or client request type.
