Proposal on JSR172 "J2ME Web services" for Axis

Hi All;

We would like to propose an implementation for Axis JSR172 “J2ME Web
services” project as per the
http://nagoya.apache.org/wiki/apachewiki.cgi?MobileProposal proposal.

We would like to start this project with the codebase which are in

ws-axis/contrib/j2me/rpc - JSR 172 RPC part implementation
ws-axis/contrib/j2me/xml - JSR 172 XML part implementation

and that has been contributed by Ias(iasandcb@tmax.co.kr) in ws-axis.

Any help extended or comments posted from the Apache developer community
will be greatly appreciated.

+1 .. that way it emphasizes that there's a shared codebase too.

Thanks Ias for the bootstrap!

Hi ;
We like what Dims suggested - basically rather than creating a new
project, just to put it under Axis directly.I would like to update the wiki
proposal appropriately.

how about eventually using ws-axis/j2me (same level as ws-axis/java and ws-axis/c) in cvs and call
it Apache Axis Micro Edition? But yes, check it in ws-axis/contrib/j2me/rpc and
ws-axis/contrib/j2me/xml for now. Looking forward to it.

Hi All,

First of all, thank you very much for making such a wonderful proposal for
J2ME web services in Apache. Since J2ME stands for not Mobile but Micro
(including mobile devices, game consoles and settop boxes), I think ws-micro
might be more appropriate for the project name.

By the way, I need time to put Apache license to each source file and make
some build script and documentation, so please wait for this "micro"
Christmas present to delight you. :-)
